A Sefer Torah campaign has been launched l’iluy nishmas Eliyahu Schepansky z”l, an 18-year-old Lakewood bochur who was tragically killed recently in a car crash.
Eliyahu was a consummate Ben Torah whose life, though painfully short, stood as a radiant model of Ahavas HaTorah. He had great personal she’ifos in Limud Hatorah and he approached his learning with seriousness, love, and dedication. Alongside this intensity in Torah, he invested hundreds of hours in Chassodim, volunteering for Igud Bnei Torah and Kollel Chazu, always seeking to benefit Bnei Torah and to be meitiv to others.
He possessed an exceptional passion for honoring a Beis Medrash and Beis Knesses, taking personal achrayus to ensure that the tzurah of a Makom Torah u’Tefillah was upheld with the greatest dignity and respect. This was not a task for him – it was an expression of his essence.
It is therefore a profoundly fitting tribute that a Sefer Torah be written in his memory, perpetuating Eliyahu’s remarkable legacy of Ahavas Ha Torah and Ahavas Chessed for generations to come.
Yehi Zichro Baruch.
