FBI Newark Special Agent in Charge Jim Denehy was interviewed by NJ Spotlight News on Tuesday night, in which he said that both antisemitic and anti-Muslim hate crimes have risen since Hamas carried out the Simchas Torah massacre in southern Israel, but noted that about 75% of the hate crimes seen since then have targeted Jews.

“Right here in New Jersey, not just antisemitic but also anti-Muslim and Arab as well. Probably about a 75 to 25 split between those that are antisemitic and those they’re anti-Muslim,” Denehy said.
