Scam Alert: Fake Court Summons Letters Targeting Manchester Residents

Residents of Manchester Township are being warned about a fake letter scam targeting vehicle owners, particularly those visiting shopping plazas.

The fraudulent letters claim to be from the court, summoning individuals to appear before Judge Daniel F. Sahin, citing a violation of New Jersey Statutes 39:4-138z (parking in a fire zone). The letters also falsely state that the vehicle’s license plate has been recorded and that a video of the alleged violation can be viewed at the Prosecutor’s Office.

The Manchester Township Police Department has confirmed that these letters are a scam and that they would never place a letter or subpoena on a vehicle. Residents are advised not to follow any instructions provided in the letter and to report it to the authorities immediately.

The police department is urging residents to remain vigilant and to spread the word to protect the community from these fraudulent activities. Anyone with concerns or who has received one of these fake letters is encouraged to contact the Manchester Township Police Department at 732-657-6111.
