SAFETY ALERT: Banana Boat Sunscreen Recalled Over Possible Cancer-Causing Chemical

The parent company of Banana Boat has issued a voluntary recall of certain batches of its hair and scalp sunscreen spray over concerns that they contain the cancer-causing chemical benzene.

Dangerous exposure to benzene happens when the chemical is breathed, ingested, or absorbed through the skin, and could potentially lead to severe forms of cancer.

The affected batches are:

The Food and Drug Administration said in a press release that no other Banana Boat products are included in this recall.
