Republicans Dominating New Voter Registrations in New Jersey

New Jersey’s voter registration rolls continued to expand in April, with 6,559,549 voters now registered statewide, according to the latest figures released by the Division of Elections.

Since March 1st, the state added 9,232 new voters. Republican registration saw the largest jump, increasing by 5,212 to a total of 1,619,352. Democratic registration also rose modestly, gaining 717 new voters for a total of 2,449,041.

The number of unaffiliated voters — those not registered with any political party — increased by 3,370, reaching 2,415,997. Unaffiliated voters now make up more than 36% of the state’s electorate.
