REPORT: Majority of New Jersey Immigrants Facing Deportation Have No Criminal History

A newly released report based on federal immigration data shows that more than 351,000 immigrants in New Jersey were facing deportation proceedings as of April 2026. According to data provided by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), only about 7 percent of those individuals had a criminal record, while the vast majority had no criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.

The figures indicate that 11,568 individuals had criminal records and 13,325 had pending criminal cases. The remaining 326,000-plus individuals facing removal proceedings had no reported criminal history. The data was included in a recent federal court filing and highlights the scope of ongoing immigration enforcement efforts in New Jersey.

  1. It should not matter. They are here illegally getting benefits through government funded charity programs sneakily. They also use our medicall facilities costing nj legal citizens and they use our school system at nj legal citizens expense. They get legal services thx to corrupt mikey sherril who reports to soros not to nj legal citizens. Nj politicians have no right to break federal immigration law to fit their communist politics. These people have no right to break our laws. No other country would tolerate this behavior.

Maybe some (and even many) haven’t been here long enough to have “gotten caught.” Maybe some (and even many) have lengthy criminal histories and/or convictions for very serious crimes in their native countries and/or in countries they’ve passed through prior to reaching these shores.
