READ IT: Details of Jackson Township’s Settlement with Oros Bais Yaakov Revealed

Court documents obtained by Lakewood Alerts show that Jackson Township’s settlement with Oros Bais Yaakov following a 9-year legal battle over the school’s application to build a campus in the municipality include a provision that Jackson will not force it to be accredited and will reimburse the school $1.35 million in legal fees.

The details of the settlement, which can be read by clicking here, come following a December vote by the Jackson Township Council to end the township’s legal squabbling with the Jewish school, which sued for alleged discrimination under RLUIPA laws over the Zoning Board’s denial of its application.

The school will now have its application approved. Oros plans to erect a beautiful new building near Cross Street and White Road, just inside the Jackson borders.
