Ray Coles To Serve 8th Consecutive Term As Lakewood’s Mayor In 2024

Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles will serve an eighth consecutive term in 2024, with Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller staying in his position as well.

Coles was first elected as a committeeman in 2001. He previously served as mayor in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, making the 2024 term his 12th one-year stint as Mayor and his 8th consecutive year.

Unlike many other municipalities, Lakewood does not elect its mayor. Rather, it elects committeemen, who then appoint a mayor for one-year terms.
