Klal Yisroel in the Tri-State area was zoche this past week to a remarkable visit from the mekubal and maggid meisharim, Harav Michoel Burnstein shlit”a, who spent several days traveling to kehillos across New York and New Jersey, delivering divrei chizuk, brachos, and yeshuos in a whirlwind journey that touched thousands of lives.
The visit began last Monday with a shiur at the White Shul in Far Rockaway, where Rav Michoel spoke divrei machshava and pnimiyus haTorah, followed by hours of personal meetings with the local tzibbur. Mispallelim stood in line until the early hours of the morning to receive a bracha and divrei chizuk from the mekubal.
Rav Michoel then traveled to Lakewood, where he delivered a shiur at Kollel Mechanchim and attended a major Kollel asifa, as well as a kvias mezuzah at by the Neimark Shul in Toms River. Rav Michoel – the mechaber of the only sefer on kabbalah to have received the haskamah of Harav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l – also gave a chaburah in sod and kabbalah to a select group of talmidei chachamim.
The mekubal also met with numerous leading local rabbanim and held a private meeting with R’ Yitzchok Hertz of Ozer Dalim, offering guidance on building the organization’s operations in Eretz Yisroel with a strong Torah foundation and proper hashkafah.
Also during his visit, Rav Michoel delivered a special shiur at the home of R’ Gershon Tress, attended by R’ Gershon’s father, R’ Tzvi Tress, and other prominent members of the Lakewood kehilla.
Each night of the trip saw Rav Michoel meeting with hundreds of individuals, with well over 1,000 people visiting him over the course of the week. Many came for chizuk and brachos, while others returned to share the astonishing yeshuos they experienced after previously receiving a bracha—couples who had children after years of waiting, older singles who found their zivug, and individuals who saw open nissim in parnassah and health.
