Popcorn Park – the zoo closest to neighborhood that caters to sick or injured animals – announced that a tiger beloved by visitors had passed away.
Popcorn Park said in a statement:
With heavy hearts, we share the news of Eli’s passing, our beloved tiger. Despite our best efforts and the care of dedicated veterinarians, Eli’s health declined in recent weeks, leading to discomfort and decreased mobility. After exhausting all options and considering his quality of life, we made the difficult decision to say goodbye.
Eli, who arrived at Popcorn Park in December 2016 alongside his sister Jess, spent over 8 joyful years here. His days were filled with simple pleasures – sunbathing, pond wading, and playful moments with Jess. His gentle nature and playful spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Though Eli’s absence is felt profoundly, we find comfort in knowing his time here raised awareness and love for endangered tigers. We strive to continue his legacy, ensuring every animal who comes through our door receives the very best care and love.
