Polls have closed in New Jersey’s Primary Day 2022. There was a slew of interesting races locally. See below for final results.
4th Congressional District
Republican Primary: Rep. Chris Smith has defeated his challenger, Mike Crispi. Smith leads by a wide margin, though the vote count is still ongoing.
Democratic Primary: Matthew Jenkins is the winner of the Democratic nomination. He ran unopposed.
3rd Congressional District
Republican Primary: Bob Healey is projected to have defeated Ian Smith following a bruising campaign for the Republican nomination in the district.
Democratic Primary: Incumbent Rep. Andy Kim has won the nomination for another term, beating Lakewood resident Reuven Hendler.
Ocean County Sheriff
Republican incumbent Michael Mastronardy has won his party’s nomination, and will face Democrat Eugene Davis, who won his party’s nomination, in November. Both ran unopposed.
Ocean County Commissioners
Republican Primary: Incumbents Virginia “Ginny” Haines and Jack Kelly have won the primary to run for another term, defeating challengers Sergio Fossa and Ashley Lamb.
Democratic Primary: Catherine Paura and Roxanne Barnes have won the Democratic nomination to become County Commissioners. They ran unopposed.
Lakewood Township Committee
Incumbent Republican Albert Akerman has won his party’s nomination and will face Democrat Mordechai Gross in the November election. Both ran unopposed.
