Police Say Suspect in Evergreen Ramming Incident Threatened to Shoot People

Lakewood Police provided Lakewood Alerts with the following on this morning incident at Evergreen Supermarket:

Just before 9:30 this morning, the Lakewood Police Department received a call regarding a disorderly person at the Evergreen Supermarket located at 945 River Avenue. While enroute, our dispatch center advised that the suspect, later identified as 24 year old Christopher Borker of Brooklyn was attempting to strike a 45 year old employee with his box truck.

Arriving officers learned that Borker, who was delivering supplies, had initiated a verbal altercation after he tried taking a u-boat from a store employee who was using it at the time. The altercation escalated when Borker threatened to get a gun and shoot the employees. He then returned to his truck and attempted to strike at least one employee who was in the parking lot. He was arrested at the scene without incident. Thankfully no one was injured during this reckless act and no firearm was found.

Although this investigation is still active, there is nothing to suggest that this dangerous act was motivated by race or religion and charges for Terroristic Threats, Aggravated Assault as well as a motor vehicle summons for Reckless Driving are forthcoming.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Det. Michael Dennis Jr at 732-363-0200 ext 5348
