Firefighters are battling a major three-alarm house fire on Sunset Avenue in Point Pleasant this afternoon as strong winds continue to complicate firefighting efforts.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:45 p.m., prompting a large response from local and mutual aid fire departments. As crews worked to contain the blaze, fire command upgraded the incident to a third alarm at around 3:30 p.m., bringing additional firefighters and equipment to the scene.
There is no immediate word on injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
