At the Ocean County Police Academy on Friday, there was the annual Fallen Officer Memorial Service with the families of the fallen officers present.
Lakewood Captain Joseph Goertz had his name placed on the memorial wall during the ceremony. The Richter, Preslar, and Matlosz families were all in attendance.
Afterward, in the lobby of Lakewood police headquarters, the unveiling of Captain Goertz’s bronze plaque on the LPD wall of fallen heroes was presented to the Goertz family.
