Passaic: Aisle 1 Kosher Supermarket Escapes Serious Damage From Fire

The Isle One Kosher Supermarket in Passaic escaped serious damage, when a fire broke out in the building.

Passaic firefighters were on the scene of a three-alarm fire at the newly renovated Brook Haven Mall in Passaic, which began at approximately 9:15 am. The fire started in the basement and spread to the loading dock area.

Isle One was evacuated, but the fire seems to have originated in the neighboring factory, with both complexes sharing basements.

The Brook Haven Mall currently houses a supermarket, a bookstore, a liquor store, a restaurant, and three clothing stores.

One firefighter was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

  1. Nothing like sensational Jewish journalism. BH at no point was AISLE 1 serious danger other than from smoke that had accumulated in the basement.
