Bikur Cholim of Lakewood on Sunday hosted a health screening for men on Sunday in Lake Terrace, testing over 2,000 people’s blood pressure, glucose levels, and A1C for those with risk factors.
Over the day, screeners identified a significant number of people with hypertension (high blood pressure), and used Bikur Cholim’s resources to make appointments for them to see a doctor within the week – a not-insignificant achievement considering the dearth of primary care providers in the Lakewood area.
Screeners included Dr. Yisroel Cofsky, Dr. Yisroel Kadosh, Dr. Baruch Kassover, and Dr. David Ogun. The renowned Dr. Chuna Lebowitz was also available throughout the day to answer questions and provide advice for situations that arose throughout the day, including one individual who had a serious arrythmia detected.
Bikur Cholim thanked their volunteers who helped the thousands of patients throughout the event, as well as the volunteers from Hatzolah and Lakewood First Aid who were deeply involved in the screenings.
Definitely looks like thousands of people.
