A yearlong drug investigation in Lakewood Township has culminated in multiple arrests and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics, weapons, and cash, authorities announced.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Honey Pot,” was led by the Lakewood Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and targeted the distribution of crystal methamphetamine in the area. In recent days, officers executed a series of court-authorized search warrants at several residences, vehicles, and on multiple individuals.
Investigators said the searches resulted in the recovery of large amounts of suspected cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, with additional substances still pending laboratory analysis. Authorities also seized multiple firearms, a substantial sum of U.S. currency, and several vehicles, all of which are expected to be subject to forfeiture proceedings.
Three Lakewood residents were arrested in connection with the investigation: Geovanni Torres De Los Santos, 32; Juan Torres Flores, 31; and Mauricio Garcia Monterosa, 42. Each faces multiple charges, including possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession with intent to distribute, weapons offenses, and money laundering.
Police Chief Gregory H. Meyer said the operation reflects extensive coordination among local, county, and federal agencies. “The amount of narcotics, weapons, and cash removed from our community is significant,” Meyer said, adding that the department remains focused on disrupting drug distribution networks within the township.
The investigation involved a wide range of assisting agencies, including specialized response teams and K-9 units from surrounding jurisdictions, the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, and federal partners with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
Authorities said the investigation remains active, and additional charges could be filed as evidence continues to be analyzed.
