Olympic Medalist From Jackson/Toms River Gets Hero’s Welcome Home

Members of the Jackson Township Police Department, Toms River Police Department, and Silverton Fire Department joined forces to welcome home Sebastian Rivera, a bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Rivera, a longtime Jackson resident now living in Toms River, represented Puerto Rico in wrestling at the Olympics. His achievement was celebrated by the community that nurtured his talent, as he attended Jackson schools and trained under his father, Stephen Rivera, owner of Elite Wrestling.

The homecoming ceremony was made possible through the efforts of Sgt. Michael Grochowski and the collaboration of local law enforcement agencies.
