Local officials and business leaders gathered early Wednesday morning to mark the grand reopening of the Hilton Hotel on Route 70, following a major renovation that has breathed new life into one of the area’s long-standing hospitality landmarks.
Originally opened in 2008, the Hilton is owned by Hotels Unlimited, a family-run hospitality group led by President Carey Tajfel. Tajfel, a graduate of Yeshiva University, was on hand to celebrate the milestone, sharing his enthusiasm for the hotel’s future and revealing plans for yet another expansion—this time to add additional rooms to the newly reopened facility.
“We’re proud of the work we’ve done here and excited for what’s ahead,” Tajfel said. “This hotel has served the community for 17 years, and with this renovation—and future expansion—it’s positioned to serve it for many more.”
The Tajfel family, who reside in Deal, New Jersey, currently own a chain of nine hotels across the region, with a tenth property on the way in nearby Toms River. They previously owned the now-closed Best Western on Route 70 as well as the Ramada in Toms River, both of which were known fixtures in the local hotel scene.
Joining Tajfel for the celebration were a number of local dignitaries, including Senator Bob Singer, Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles, Committeeman Menashe Miller, Chaplain Rabbi Yaakov Wenger, and David Dolan, Chief-of-Staff to Assemblyman Avi Schnall. Other community representatives were also in attendance, commending the Hilton’s contribution to the local economy and its role in welcoming both tourists and business travelers to the region.
Mayor Coles praised the hotel’s continued investment in Lakewood. “This isn’t just a renovation—it’s a commitment to the growth and vitality of our community,” he said.
