Ocean County Voters Being Offered Multiple Voting Options For Upcoming June 10 Primary

Voters in Ocean County will have several ways to cast their ballots for the upcoming June 10 Primary Election, including early in-person voting, voting by mail, and voting on Election Day.

Early Voting

Early in-person voting begins Monday, June 3, and will continue through Saturday, June 8, at 10 designated locations across the county. Voting hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. Voters may cast their ballots at any early voting site, regardless of their home municipality.

The early voting locations include several branches of the Ocean County Library and community centers in Bayville, Brick, Jackson, Forked River, Lakewood, Lavallette, Little Egg Harbor, Manahawkin, Manchester, and Toms River.

Election Day Voting

For those voting on Primary Day, polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling location, which is listed on the sample ballot sent by the Ocean County Clerk’s Office.

Vote by Mail

Voters who prefer to vote by mail must apply by June 3 if requesting a ballot by mail. In-person applications for vote-by-mail ballots will be accepted at the Ocean County Clerk’s Office in Toms River through June 9 at 3 p.m.

Completed vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked or returned by 8 p.m. on June 10. Ballots can be returned via USPS (no postage necessary), deposited in one of the county’s secure drop boxes, or delivered directly to the Ocean County Board of Elections at 129 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. A list of drop box locations is included with each vote-by-mail ballot.

As of May 20, the Ocean County Clerk’s Office had issued 44,843 vote-by-mail ballots—22,858 to registered Democrats and 21,985 to Republicans. Of those, 13,980 ballots had already been returned.

Additional Information

Acting Ocean County Clerk John Catalano encouraged voters to review the sample ballots mailed to them, which include details on polling locations, early voting sites, and drop box locations. More than 400,000 sample ballots are being distributed to registered voters.

“This year’s sample ballot includes important updates, including a new block-style ballot layout mandated by recent legislation and a federal court ruling,” Catalano said. “We urge all voters to review their sample ballots before heading to the polls.”

Ocean County Commissioner Jennifier Bacchione, who serves as liaison to the Clerk’s Office, emphasized the county’s commitment to ensuring secure and accessible elections. “Voting is a fundamental right, and we are committed to protecting the integrity of every vote,” she said.
