The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office has announced an increased security presence at key locations in Toms River and Lakewood to bolster public safety and support local law enforcement.
Effective immediately and until further notice, sheriff’s officers will be stationed in downtown Toms River and at the Ocean County Library’s Lakewood branch. The move is part of the department’s ongoing mission to assist those in need and ensure the safety of all residents and visitors across the county.
“We are committed to helping our partners in law enforcement and to keeping all County facilities safe,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The initiative is being carried out in coordination with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Lakewood Police Department, Toms River Police Department, and other local agencies.
No specific threat has been reported, but officials emphasize the proactive effort is part of their standard commitment to community protection.
