An Ocean County man is $1,000,000 richer (before taxes) after his losing lottery ticket won the Million Dollar Replay Grand Prize Drawing.
Most lottery players don’t know this, but if you buy an instant ticket and it loses, you can still turn it in, and it’ll be included in a “replay” drawing where you could win sizable sums of cash.
The big prize went to Ed Schlesinger of Ocean County, while a $50,000 prize went to another Ocean County man.
Schlesinger said he plans to use the prize money to help his family pay off student loans, car payments, and mortgages. He also hopes to help his wife realize a career dream.
“Once again, New Jersey Lottery players who were quarterfinalists in the Million Dollar Replay contest came to Atlantic City for fun, entertainment, and their chance to become a millionaire,” said James Carey, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director. “For the 12th consecutive year, we were happy to see our players enjoy the ultimate do-over with their opportunity to win $1,000,000!”
