Ocean County Commissioner Robert Arace, sworn in earlier this month, has hit the ground running in his new role, taking charge as liaison to several key departments and committees that directly impact the lives of Ocean County residents.
Commissioner Arace has outlined his priorities, focusing on enhancing service delivery, fostering innovation, and ensuring efficiency throughout the county. “Each of these departments plays an essential role in improving the quality of life for Ocean County residents,” said Commissioner Arace. “I am committed to ensuring that the resources and support these departments need to thrive are readily available. My focus will be on fostering collaboration, listening to the needs of residents, and driving initiatives that make a tangible impact.”
In his liaison role, Commissioner Arace will oversee the following departments and committees:
- Consumer Affairs Department
- Office of the Fire Marshal
- Fire & First Aid Training Center Office
- Parks & Recreation Department
- Printing & Graphics Art Department (Co-liaison)
- Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools (Co-liaison)
- Ocean Ride/Transportation Services Department
- Office of Senior Services
- Veterans Service Bureau
- Airpark Advisory Committee (Co-liaison)
- Construction Board of Appeals (Co-liaison)
- Cultural and Heritage Commission
- Natural Lands Trust Fund Advisory Committee (Co-liaison)
- Information Technology Department
A cornerstone of Commissioner Arace’s approach is engaging with the public to shape programs and services. He plans to host regular public forums and community meetings, inviting residents to share their concerns and suggestions. This feedback will guide his work with department leaders and staff to tackle operational challenges and implement innovative solutions.
Commissioner Arace expressed a strong commitment to serving Ocean County’s diverse population. From supporting more than 30,000 veterans through the Veterans Service Bureau to ensuring seniors have access to essential programs via the Office of Senior Services, his initiatives will address the community’s broad needs.
Environmental preservation is also high on his agenda, as he collaborates with the Natural Lands Trust Fund Advisory Committee and Cattus Island County Park Advisory Council to protect the county’s natural resources.
“Together with my colleagues on the Board of Commissioners, I am excited to build on Ocean County’s strong foundation while introducing fresh perspectives to these critical areas,” said Commissioner Arace.
