NJ Transit App Upgrades Launch Wednesday With Improved Schedules and Alerts

NJ Transit riders will see a series of upgrades to the agency’s mobile app beginning Wednesday, September 9, as the transit agency rolls out changes aimed at making schedules, service alerts and trip planning easier to use.

The update will introduce a new unified Departures & Schedules section bringing train, bus and light rail information into a more consistent format.

NJ Transit says riders will also receive improved access to active service alerts, enhanced nearby-station and trip-planning features and updates designed to make mobile ticketing more reliable.

The new version will also include improvements to special-event ticketing, accessibility, payments, app performance and overall usability.

The changes follow the recent launch of NJ Transit’s redesigned website and “Navvie,” the agency’s new AI-powered digital assistant that helps riders find trip-planning and travel information.

NJ Transit says feedback from customers helped shape many of the changes being introduced in the updated app.
