NJ State Police Mourn Loss Of Top Official To 9/11-Related Illness

The New Jersey State Police (NJSP) is mourning the loss of Major Jeffrey A. Burke, Commanding Officer of the Intelligence and Criminal Enterprise Section, who succumbed to a 9/11-related illness contracted while serving in response to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks.

Major Burke, a graduate of the 118th State Police class, dedicated 26 years of distinguished service to the NJSP, contributing to both the Operations and Investigations Branches throughout his career.

Colonel Patrick J. Callahan expressed deep sorrow over Burke’s passing, reflecting on his unwavering commitment and sacrifice. “Please join us in praying for Jeff and his family as we mourn his loss,” Callahan said.
