NJ Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill Launches Statewide Public Input Survey

New Jersey Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill is asking residents to help shape her incoming administration, launching a statewide public input survey to gather ideas and concerns directly from the public.

The survey invites every New Jerseyan to share their “ideas, concerns, and priorities,” which Sherrill said will be used to guide policy recommendations and support her goal of making the state “more affordable, accessible, and opportunity-driven.”

Sherrill takes office in January and has repeatedly emphasized public involvement in shaping her agenda. The survey is available online to all residents.

  1. We were all pushed to go out and vote. Wouldn’t it be appropriate to push everyone to fill out this survey so our community’s voice is heard?

  2. If you have to ask for input about doing your job then you are not a leader
You were an elected official for NJ you should know Taxes property taxes gas tax and insurance are the main things
NJ is unaffordable crises is caused by democratic greed for power and taxpayers money
Where does it go and how high of a price to pay

  3. Dear Governor Elect

I retired in 2011 after forty years in the public retirement system and we were told that each year there would be a COLA adjustment. Well 14 years later I’m still receiving the same amount. Yes, I know I’m lucky to have a retirement subsidy but when it was announced there would be no COLA for the foreseeable future I tried to get my job back was told I couldn’t because of a state law. So I’m between a rock and a hard place and I’m not the only one.
Is it possible to get some kind of increase after 14 years?

  4. If you are REALLY interested in energy policy, stay away from political hacks. Grandholm knows as much about energy as I do. Get real advice from experts. Even go as far as asking a republican. There are many real experts out there.

  5. NJ voters are like Chicago voters. It’s always democratic. The issues are starring everyone in the face and the majority keeps voting democratic. It makes no sense to me. Why would people keep voting to keep democrats in power, then complain about our state of affairs.

Do you know over the last decade the state budget has gone from 34 billion to 54 billion. How’s your home budget doing.

    Voters need to wake up.

    Terry Leddy.

    • Amen, any time a Democrat creates a new program it means higher taxes! Billions spent on illegals but mot our own people, shame shame shame! No pride for this state!

  6. Thank you Mikie Sherrill for caring about what we think and giving us a voice in the process. That is excellent leadership. I look forward to filling out the survey.

  7. I have been retired for ten years, yes I get a pension, but cost of living in New Jersey, keeps going up, taxes, utilities, insurance, food, so when your income doesn’t go up, it’s hard, they froze the cola in 2011, it’s going on 2026, when are we going to see a cola raise? Prices go up, they don’t say not for you, because you didn’t get a raise. I worked as an educator for 37 years, I paid into the system, now it’s time for the system to give me and retirees a raise.

  8. Some may feel it’s quite progressive of the incoming admin to send out this survey. I do agree it seems you’re unsure of yourself as the newly-elected governor. I wonder where the responses your team disagrees with will go. My guess would be in the trash bin.

Taxes; job opportunities; energy; parental rights; boys out of girls sports/locker rooms/bathrooms; mental health; insurance; waste; fraud. Do something for our broken cities not just throw money at them with little to no real accountability Be a governor for ALL of New Jersey. YOUR SUCCESS IS OUR SUCCESS.

    • You are exactly right, and our responses will be put into the trash! And you forgot how financially troubled this state is! Once the Garden State now the Ghetto State! Taxes wasted and areas in this state totally ignored except for taking their taxes!

  9. NJ transit runs on 2 hr intervals sometimes. 2 hrs waiting in Penn station is unreasonsble especially given that there is always enough commutters waiting around.

  10. I’m retired on a fixed income taxes are killing me pretty soon it’s going to force me to move out of NJ which I love this state and want live out rest of my life here, future is not looking good for me & family,

  11. I feel that we do work on lowering corporate tax rates I voted for you maybe do it not as drastic as Jack ciattarelli wanted to maybe half a percent a year. Keep paying the full actuary payment into the pension system it helps to give the state a better credit rating we went from a negative rating under Christie to a AA position rating, rework the school funding formula and most of all consolidate town’s you don’t need a plan like Pemberton and then have Pemberton boro you are doubling Services school superintendents Court systems judges everything
