NJ Drone Hysteria: Aerospace Insider Says They Could They Be Hunting for Nuclear Threats

Mysterious drone sightings over New Jersey have captured public attention, and now an aerospace expert’s theory has added an alarming twist to the narrative. John Ferguson, founder of Saxon Aerospace, a company specializing in military-grade drones, shared his thoughts in a video on TikTok, speculating that the drones might be searching for radioactive materials.

Ferguson’s video delves into startling claims, including a conversation he says he had with a man who raised concerns about a nuclear warhead left over from post-Soviet Union Ukraine that could be headed to the United States.

Ferguson referenced past drone incidents, including sightings over I-70 in the Midwest, where it was believed drones were searching for missing radioactive material. He noted that drones typically don’t fly at night unless equipped with specialized thermal optics or sensors for specific missions.

“These drones are not nefarious in intent,” Ferguson said, “but if they’re flying low at night, they’re likely ‘smelling’ for something on the ground—whether it’s gas leaks, radioactive material, or something else.”

Ferguson’s remarks align with speculations from others, including a now-deleted account on X by a self-proclaimed RF engineer who suggested the drones could be nuclear detector-equipped devices. Meanwhile, Geiger Counter World Map shows elevated radiation levels in nearby New York City, adding weight to the concerns.

The drone sightings coincide with Congressional discussions on the Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act of 2024 (H.R. 8610), sparking theories about whether the sightings are being used to push through expanded counter-drone legislation.

Critics also suggest the sightings could be part of a deliberate campaign to stoke fear, with some labeling it a “drone psyop.”

New Jersey State Senator Jon Bramnick hinted at deeper concerns, telling NewsNation, “There must be something going on that they can’t tell us because they’re so fearful of what the public is going to do when they hear what the drones are doing.”

While officials maintain that the drones do not pose a direct threat, Ferguson’s claims and ongoing speculation have left many questioning the true purpose of the mysterious flights. As investigations continue, residents are left to wonder: Are these drones part of a critical mission—or something more ominous?
