NJ Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin Visits Lakewood For First Time Ever [PHOTOS]

In a sign of the Orthodox Jewish community’s increasing political clout at the state level, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin visited BMG, the Cheder, and held a meet-and-greet in Lakewood on Thursday, accompanied by recently sworn-in Assemblyman Avi Schnall.

Coughlin’s visit to Lakewood was his first-ever official trip to the township besides for election night, when he spoke at Schnall’s victory party. During his BMG visit, the Assembly leader was visibly taken by the remarkable and unique sight a bais medrash of thousands of bochurim and yungerleit engrossed in their learning.
