Newark Airport AirTrain to Be Replaced by Shuttle Buses on Weekdays Beginning Monday

Travelers using Newark Liberty International Airport should expect changes beginning Monday, September 14, as AirTrain service at Newark Airport Station will be replaced by shuttle buses during much of the weekday.

NJ Transit says that from 5:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on most weekdays, Port Authority shuttle buses will transport passengers between Newark Airport Station and airport terminals while work continues on the AirTrain Newark Replacement Program.

NJ Transit trains will continue making their normal stops at Newark Airport Station throughout the project.

AirTrain service is expected to operate normally on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as during certain holiday and peak travel periods.

Port Authority personnel will be available to direct passengers arriving at the station to the correct shuttle buses and airport terminals. Travelers are being encouraged to allow additional time when heading to or from Newark Airport while the temporary arrangement is in place.
