Members of New Jersey’s Task Force 1 – a group of highly trained professionals skilled in search and rescue missions – deployed to western New York to assist following a devastating blizzard that resulted in the deaths of at least 28 people.
Gov. Phil Murphy announced the deployment on Twitter, writing, “I’m deploying New Jersey Task Force One to assist New York with rescue efforts after extreme winter weather impacted the state this weekend, because that’s what neighbors do. Good luck to NJ-TF1 as they join the heroes who are working around the clock to keep New Yorkers safe.”
