The New Jersey State Police is asking for the public’s help in connection with the horrific crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning that tragically claimed the lives of four bochurim — Yaakov Kilberg z”l, Aharon Nosson Lebovitz z”l, Shlomo Abba Cohen z”l, and Chaim Simcha Grossman z”l.
According to investigators, at approximately 12:40 a.m., a white 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near milepost 1.3 in Carneys Point Township, Salem County, when it collided head-on with a black Mazda CX-5 traveling in the correct direction. The impact was catastrophic, resulting in the the four young men being niftar, who were heading out on a bein hazmanim trip to Tennessee.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or observed the Dodge Ram traveling in the wrong direction is urged to contact the Troop “D” Moorestown Station Detective Bureau at 609-860-9000 ext. 3226.
