New Jersey May Have Significant Assets Waiting For You To Claim Them. Here’s How To Do It

New Jersey’s Unclaimed Property Administration (UPA) is urging residents to check if they have unclaimed assets. There is currently some $6 billion in unclaimed assets in the UPA’s coffers just waiting for their rightful owners to ask for them.

The wide-ranging cache of unclaimed property includes utility rebates, inactive stock and brokerage accounts, neglected bank accounted, unpaid life insurance benefits, unused rebate cards, as well as forgotten checks.

According to the UPA, there are 236,845 separate individuals and businesses across New Jersey with unclaimed assets – a significant increase from 224,000 individuals and businesses named last year and 153,000 in 2021.
