New Jersey Forest Fire Service Achieves 100% Containment Of 35-Acre Wildfire In Lakewood

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service announced that it achieved full containment of a 35-acre wildfire near Pine Park and the Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood at 9 a.m. today.

Despite the containment, officials warned that smoke from the fire could linger in nearby areas over the next day or two, potentially affecting air quality.

The fire, which broke out earlier this week, prompted swift action from local and state fire crews to protect nearby structures and minimize damage. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the blaze, and an investigation is ongoing.

Residents are advised to remain cautious about smoke exposure, especially those with respiratory conditions, and to follow any additional guidance from local authorities.
