New Jersey Food Worker Found Dead in Kettle Cooker

A 63-year-old worker at a food facility was found dead inside of a kettle cooker earlier this week, police say.

Dale Devilli is believed to have been working inside the machine, perhaps cleaning it, when he apparently got trapped inside it. The incident occurred at the Lassonde Pappas food plant in Cumberland County.

The facility said there was “an accident that caused a fatal injury,” but didn’t specify what type of accident it was.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is now investigating the worker’s death, though no foul play is suspected.
