New Jersey Emergency Team Deploys To California For Wildfire Recovery Efforts

Five personnel from the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) are heading to California to assist with disaster recovery efforts under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC). The team will support the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program in the wake of recent emergencies.

The NJOEM team will serve as Program Delivery Managers and Task Force Leaders, conducting site and preliminary damage assessments and providing technical guidance to county officials on Public Assistance projects.

Upon their arrival in Pasadena, California, the team will undergo onboarding and may then be reassigned to operational areas, including county Emergency Operations Centers, Disaster Recovery Centers, and Local Assistance Centers, to provide direct support.

New Jersey officials emphasized their commitment to aiding disaster-impacted communities nationwide. “We’re proud to support recovery efforts in California and lend our expertise to help those in need,” an NJOEM representative said.
