New 253-Home Development Proposed for Jackson

A builder is seeking approval from Jackson Township for a new development on the east side of Jackson that would include 253 homes and a house of worship.

The development is proposed for the area of land bordered by East Veterans on its northern side, South Hope Chapel to the east, and Whitesville Road to the south.

Under the proposal for the 158.8-acre development, there would be 205 single-family homes on individual lots, plus an additional 48 homes for very-low, low- and moderate-income families that would be located in six multi-story buildings.

The plan also calls for an 8,226-square foot house of worship to be built, as well as a recreation area that would include a playground, basketball court, and playing field.

An initial hearing for the planned development is scheduled for June 15th.
