Uh, the law is to STOP when the RED LIGHTS are flashing so kids can reach the sidewalk safely? That driver is fully at fault here. Even more so since the bus POSITIONED itself in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD so it could be visible.

Bus failed to maintain their lane, crossing the double yellow line. It is illegal for these kids to be dropped off on the wrong side of the road. As a kid, I sat on a bus every day that passed where I could be dropped off so that I would be dropped on the correct side of the road. Let’s put some responsibility on the bus driver. And kids need to learn to look before they cross roads. Put some blame on the child too. Plenty of stupid to go around.
Crazy as it is, and the driver is 100% at fault here. The kid didn’t look before crossing, there’s no way he didn’t see the car coming

It is not illegal to be dropped off on the opposite side of the road unless there is a median.
So why does the law say that you have to stop on both sides in both directions of the road when the bus has the red lights flashing
