MVA Involving Driver Wanted for Bank Robbery Sends Vehicles Careening Onto Sidewalk On Clifton Ave. [PHOTOS & VIDEOS]

A two-car MVA at the intersection of Clifton Avenue and Main Street in Lakewood on Thursday afternoon sent both vehicles careening onto the sidewalk along Clifton, directly in front of Town Appliance – including one that skid along on its side and into the building facade.

Hatzolah, EMS, police and fire responded promptly to the scene. There were no immediate reports of serious injuries.

The driver of the maroon vehicle – who caused the accident and flipped his vehicle on its side – is a wanted man out of Maine, where police were searching for him following a bank robbery. He was taken into custody by Lakewood police officers following the crash.
