Mobile MVC Unit to Offer REAL ID and Other Services in Lakewood on July 29

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s Mobile Unit will visit Lakewood later this month to provide a range of services, including REAL ID issuance, non-driver IDs, and vehicle registration renewals.

The mobile unit will be stationed at the Lakewood Municipal Building, 231 3rd Street, on Tuesday, July 29.

Appointments are required for several services and can be booked online starting Monday, July 15, between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Due to high demand and limited availability, residents are encouraged to check the booking portal frequently during that time: https://telegov.njportal.com/njmvcmobileunit/

Services Requiring an Appointment:

  • REAL ID

  • Registration renewal

  • Initial permit (Note: Permit tests are not administered at the mobile unit)

  • Non-driver ID

  • Duplicate or replacement title or registration

Services Available Without an Appointment:

  • Surrendering license plates

  • Handicapped, veteran, or Purple Heart placards

  • Purchase of red GDL decals
