Massive Power Outage Hits Over Lakewood 1,000 Homes and Businesses

An outage caused by an overloaded circuit breaker in Lakewood left up to 1,500 homes and businesses with power Wednesday morning, snarling traffic in key areas and leaving the Lakewood Cheder without power.

Lakewood police officers were manning intersections to assist drivers as traffic lights were out and the Lakewood Fire Department is also responding to reports of people stuck in elevators on Avenue of the Americas.

Meanwhile, sources told Lakewood Alerts that learning continued without power at the Cheder and other Mosdos.

Power was restored shortly after 10:30 am.
