Manchester Police Investigating Another Attempted Luring in Pine Lake Park

On October 21, 2022, at approximately 2:39 pm, the Manchester Township Police received a call reporting a possible luring attempt in the area of Northampton Blvd. and Monmouth Ave., located in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township.

The caller said after her daughter exited the school bus, a white four-door sedan with tinted windows pulled up and made multiple gestures for the female to enter his vehicle. The operator was described as an Asian male in his 30’s wearing a black jacket. The female immediately ran into her residence and told her family. The suspect vehicle was last seen driving on Monmouth Ave. toward Champlain St.

Patrol officers quickly flooded the area searching for the suspect vehicle but did not find it. The Manchester Township Board of Education Transportation Department was notified of the incident, and a suspect vehicle description was given to all buses. Members of the Patrol Division and the Investigations Bureau quickly initiated an investigation that included viewing numerous home surveillance systems in the surrounding area; however, they could not locate any video or still images of the suspect vehicle. A canvass of the area failed to result in any witnesses.

Our children’s and our community’s safety is our department’s and school district’s number one priority. Rest assured that all investigatory steps are being taken to resolve this incident and to continue keeping our community safe.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. If you have any information regarding the vehicle described, please contact the Manchester Township Police Department at 732-657-6111.

The incident comes shortly after another apparent luring incident in Pine Lake Park, though that turned out to be a mere miscommunication.
