Manchester Police Department Announces Hiring of Patrolman Donald Miller

The Manchester Township Police Department has announced the hiring of Patrolman Donald Miller, who was sworn in during the Township Council meeting on November 10, 2025.

Patrolman Miller, 36, is a Brick Township native and graduate of Brick Memorial High School’s Class of 2008. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from Kean University.

Miller began his law enforcement career in 2016 when he was hired by the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department and entered the Ocean County Police Academy. He graduated in 2017, receiving the academy’s Physical Fitness Award.

Following graduation, Miller joined the Jamesburg Borough Police Department as a full-time officer, serving there for eight years. During his time in Jamesburg, he acted as a defensive tactics instructor and worked closely with fellow officers on training initiatives. According to the department, Miller hopes to continue advancing in defensive tactics and firearms instruction, with a long-term goal of training recruits at the Ocean County Police Academy. He also expressed aspirations to serve on the Ocean County S.W.A.T. team as a representative of Manchester Township.

“We are proud to welcome Ptl. Miller to the Manchester Police family,” Chief Antonio Ellis said. “As a seasoned officer with years of law enforcement experience, including as a trainer, we look forward to Ptl. Miller’s contributions to our department and community.”

Miller will now begin the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program, where he will work under the guidance of several experienced officers.

Chief Ellis also thanked township leadership for their support. “I would like to thank Mayor Joseph Hankins, members of the Township Council, and Township Administration for their continued support of our police department and our mission to serve our residents at the highest possible level,” he said.
