An investigation by the Manchester Police Department has led to the arrest of Cody Diaz, a 30-year-old Toms River resident, in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries in the Pine Lake Park neighborhood.
On September 3rd, approximately a dozen incidents were reported, with evidence collected, including video surveillance footage of the suspect. The footage was shared on social media, and a resident came forward the next morning, identifying Diaz as the suspect.
Diaz was found with stolen items, including a bicycle, and was charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property. He is currently being held at Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
The police department encourages the community to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. Residents are also reminded to secure their vehicles to prevent further incidents. Anyone with information regarding additional vehicle burglaries is urged to contact Detective Richard Conklin at 732-657-2009, ext. 4211, or submit anonymous tips online or through private Facebook message.
