A devastating collision on the West Shore Expressway in New York resulted in the death of a 33-year-old motorcyclist, who has now been identified by local law enforcement as a resident of Manchester.
The victim, Michael Bugliaro from Whiting, an unincorporated community in Manchester’s boundaries, tragically lost his life when his 2009 Suzuki motorcycle collided with a 2008 Dodge pickup truck. The incident occurred during the evening rush hour at approximately 5 p.m. on July 1, near the Arthur Kill Road and Huguenot Avenue exit.
The collision occurred when the pickup truck attempted to switch lanes, moving from the right lane to the left lane, according to NYPD officials. Both vehicles were traveling northbound on the Expressway at the time of impact.
Bugliaro sustained severe body trauma as a result of the collision. He was found by officers and EMTs lying on the roadway, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed in the accident.
