Manchester Home Severely Damaged in Electrical Fire

A residence at 137A Hudson Parkway in Manchester Township sustained extensive damage following a fire on Friday night. The incident, reported at approximately 9:23 p.m., prompted a rapid response from the Manchester Township Police Department and multiple fire companies.

Upon arrival, officers observed smoke and flames coming from the rear exterior of the home. Nearby residences were found to be either evacuated or unoccupied. Firefighters from numerous departments, coordinated by the Manchester Township Communications Division and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division, extinguished the blaze.

The home suffered significant fire and water damage and was declared uninhabitable by the building inspector. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office conducted a preliminary investigation and determined the fire was accidental, caused by a failure in energized electrical components in the master bedroom.

The Manchester Township Police Department expressed gratitude to the many fire companies and agencies that responded, including Whiting, Ridgeway, Bayville, and Berkeley fire departments, as well as Manchester Township EMS and Jersey Central Power & Light.
