Man Who Shot Victim Twice In West Gate Indicted For Attempted Murder

A grand jury in Ocean County has indicted Million Brown-Bey, 47, on a charge of attempted murder, after shooting a man in West Gate.

The indictment stems from a shooting incident that occurred on January 7 at the West Gate Shopping Complex in Lakewood. Brown-Bey allegedly approached the victim’s vehicle and fired at least one shot, striking the 27-year-old man in both arms.

Despite his injuries, the victim was able to drive himself to Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center in Brick Township, where he received treatment.

Brown-Bey was taken into custody on January 11, four days after the shooting. His indictment was handed down on Wednesday.

The prosecutor’s office did not provide further details on the motive behind the shooting.
