Eagle-eyed Lakewood Shomrim members patrolling near BMG spotted a party holding a machete. The Lakewood Police Department was called in as Shomrim members maintained visual contact with the suspect.
By the time police officers arrived, the suspect had dropped the machete. However, Shomrim members retraced his steps and recovered the machete. The suspect was then promptly placed under arrest.
It is not clear what the man was doing with the large knife, whether he had any evil intentions, or if his location being near BMG is related to any possible nefarious plot by the man.
