Man Arrested After Waving Machete At People During Fight At Local Wawa

Eric Jablonski, a 35-year-old man from Lakehurst, was arrested on Tuesday following an incident at the local Wawa store, where he reportedly waved a machete at people.

The Lakehurst Police Department said it received a call at 2:06 p.m. about a dispute at the Wawa, prompting a response from police. Officer Anthony Florio, Detective Madelyn Poss, and Sgt. Jason Guide arrived at the scene and identified a man matching the description of the individual involved in the machete incident — identified as Jablonski — and subsequently detained him.

Upon investigation, the police officers discovered a machete inside a backpack lying next to Jablonski on the ground. Jablonski was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct for creating a physically hazardous situation.

Following the arrest, Jablonski was taken to the Lakehurst police headquarters for processing. He was later remanded to Ocean County Jail.
