MAILBAG: A Well-Deserved Thank You to Lakewood DPW

I would like to publicly thank the Lakewood Department of Public Works — specifically the Public Works Can Maintenance Department — for truly outstanding service.

After discovering a broken garbage can, I sent an email at 10:19 a.m. By the next morning, at 10:24 a.m., the damaged can had already been removed and replaced with a brand-new one. That kind of turnaround is remarkable and speaks volumes about the professionalism and responsiveness of the department.

Too often, we only hear complaints about municipal services. It’s just as important to recognize when our local employees do things right — and in this case, they went above and beyond.

Thank you to the Lakewood DPW for your efficiency, dedication, and commitment to the community. It does not go unnoticed.

Signed,

E.H.

  1. I live in A Country Place and I love it here. There is one big problem though, and that is the poor street lighting on many of the streets. We are a community of Seniors and it can be dangerous to walk out at night with insufficient lighting. What can be done to get decent street lighting for A Country Place?
    Thank you!
    A Concerned Resident
