The Lakewood Student Transportation Authority (LSTA) has issued another round of transportation route renewals for the 2026-2027 school year as preparations continue for next year’s busing assignments.
The LSTA says Renewal 5 is now being distributed and includes 26 schools, primarily the first group of boys’ high schools along with several additional elementary schools. Schools receiving this renewal package are required to return their information by Thursday.
The LSTA also announced that its next transportation bid package will be released on Friday. That bid will include new routes, non-renewable routes, and routes that have not yet been assigned. Another scheduled bid release is planned for June 30.
Parents of girls entering high school still have a limited opportunity to participate in the transportation process, as the opt-in window for girls’ high school transportation will remain open for approximately 36 more hours.
Officials noted that many schools have already received their proposed routes for the upcoming school year and are currently reviewing them, compiling feedback, and identifying any necessary changes before final approval.
The LSTA emphasized that schools whose 2025-2026 transportation forms have not yet been submitted cannot begin the review process for 2026-2027 routes. Parents are therefore being urged to ensure that all required forms for the current school year have at least been submitted.
Families can check the status of their transportation forms through LSTA’s online portal or by using one of the kiosks available at the agency’s office.
